OU Day in the Life
Every year the OU School of Music hosts an event called “Day in the Life”. This event is an opportunity for high school juniors and seniors to experience a day of what it is like to be a music major. Registrants will be placed in a group lead by a current music major at OU.
High School Juniors and Seniors are invited to attend this event on Friday, November 9th at Catlett Music Center (500 W Boyd St, Norman OK 73019). The deadline for registration is November 2nd. Register here!
The day will consist of the following:
· Mock Music Theory Class
· Introduction to Music Education Class
· Conducting Classes
· Ensemble Rehearsals
· Student and Faculty Q&A Session
· Meeting/Lesson with Applied Professor of Student’s Instrument (optional)
· Pride of Oklahoma Marching Band Rehearsal (optional)
At these sessions students can ask questions about scholarships, time management, majors/minors, auditions, and more.
For parents who wish to attend, there will be a presentation and tour with OU Prospective Student Services. At this session, questions regarding housing and food services will be addressed. This is a great time where parents can learn/ask more about OU in general. At all other times, parents are welcome to observe the classes and rehearsals in the student schedule.
