Update Jan. 6, 2018
UHS Varsity Basketball Games on Friday, January 12
The Pep Band for this event was originally planned as Volunteers-Only, however given the fact that so many of our 10-11-12th grade students will be attending the NBDA Honor Band Clinic in Bartlesville, as well as others involved in specialized rehearsals with our winter season competitive groups, we are going to need all students who aren’t already involved in one of these conflicting activities to attend the basketball game.
To incentivize participation, we are offering: (1) free pizza to participants at 5:00pm in the band hallway, (2) a light snack between games, (3) extra credit points equivalent to two days’ worth of daily class participation, and (4) volunteer service points for anyone in need of accruing hours for service organization he/she might be involved in.
Given the relatively short notice, we understand that not all students will be able to attend, in which case we simply need for the parent/guardian of any student missing this required game to send a brief email or hard copy note of explanation to the student’s concert band class teacher. We certainly appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
As with all basketball game Pep Bands, the schedule is: 5:45pm call time in Band Room 1, perform at 6:30pm girls varsity game & 8:00pm boys varsity game, finished at approximately 9:30pm, pending game timing, overtimes, etc. The attire is: black Union Bands member shirt, jeans, and sneakers. More info is available at www.UnionBands.com/basketballpepbands
