Molly Ayers joined the Union Bands faculty in 2020 after five years with Sequoyah Public Schools. The Sequoyah bands saw steady improved during her time in charge. She was responsible for the 6-12 grades band program as well as 5th grade general music. Sequoyah has had several students earn positions in honor bands, including: Green Country Band Directors’ Association,Northeast Band Directors’ Association, Oklahoma Small School Band Directors’ Association,and the Rogers County Band Directors’ Association. Her bands received Excellent ratings at OSSAA regional marching contest and district concert band contest. Molly’s students have received numerous Superior ratings at OSSAA Solo and Ensemble state contests. In 2018, Mrs. Ayers was honored to be recognized as Sequoyah Middle School Teacher of the Year.

Molly received her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Oklahoma State University. While at OSU she served as Drum Major of the Cowboy Marching Band as well as Vice President of Membership for Sigma Alpha Iota. She earned a Master’s degree in Wind Band conducting from the University of Missouri. Molly taught for two years at Tulsa Memorial, assisting at the high school and served as program coordinator of beginner bands. At Memorial, she received the OSSAA Band Director Sweepstakes award. She is a founding member of the Green Country Band Directors Association and served as chairperson for the 7th grade and Junior High honor bands. She has received the Tau Beta Sigma Women in Music Award, has served as an honor band clinician, and is a proud wife and mother.
