Two more performances occur during our school day. Those are the TCC music festival (which has not yet been scheduled) and our OSSAA state concert band contest which is scheduled for April 11, 2017. Because of later scheduled times and conflicting bus routes, our OSSAA contest (usually) requires us to return home later than our regular school day ending time. As well, The TCC Music Festival has, in the past, required us to leave before the regular start-time of the school day. More details will be given as those dates are finalized so that parents may coordinate transportation and logistics.
Also required for all Freshmen is our district honor band auditions known as 'NBDA'. Those auditions are scheduled for Saturday, January 28, 2017. Transportation will be provided to Sand Springs where auditions will take place. More information will be posted closer to that date.
Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors are strongly encouraged to audition for NBDA and first-round All State as well. That date is Saturday, November 5, 2016. Transportation will be provided to Broken Arrow High School where auditions will take place. More information will be posted closer to that date.
Daily Grade 35%
Playing Tests 15%
Final Exam 10%
Class Begins every day at 8:20 M-Th and Fridays at 8:45. This will be our schedule until Friday, November 11. Beginning Monday, November 14, our class will begin every day at 8:00 M-Fri. This will require transportation to school that is not provided by buses. Please begin now coordinating a ride for your student so that we may begin at 8:00 am for the last few weeks of 1st semester and the entirety of 2nd semester. This is done to maximize our class time as we release Freshmen early every day so that they may catch a shuttle and arrive on-time to the 9th Grade Center for 2nd hour. If transportation is a problem, please don't hesitate emailing me so that I may help find a solution. I'm looking forward to a great and successful year with this Concert Band.
