In addition, we are looking for 1 Front Ensemble and 1 Mellophone patent to come alongside long standing upper class men section parents! It’s a UBPC focus to ensure we have transition plans in place for roles soyou would be learning the role and sharing some of the responsibilities.

Section parents coordinate things like goodie bags, wash uniforms, decorate the band hall. It’s like home room mom for your students section!

Please fill out this form if you are interested!

Support My Season is still going on!

Where does the membership money go?

The membership dollars go in to the UBPC general fund.  This account is used to fund various expenses that we do not want to have to charge in regular student fees.

What do the UBPC members do?

UBPC members are mostly parents that want the best band experience for their students.  The band parent/UBPC member experience is different for everyone, depending on the amount of time each person has available to commit.  Generally speaking, members volunteer, attend UBPC meetings, fundraise, watch practices together, help with special events, travel with the band, chaperone on trips, provide hospitality for judges and other events, make friends with other parents and cheer on the band.  UBPC members are there to answer questions (especially for 1st year marching students – yikes!) and support you when your student graduates (try not to think about it – it will be here before you know it!)

Company donations or donation matching

Some companies will match or donate if you volunteer! Don’t hesitate to ask! Some of our band parents have received hundreds of dollars in donations just by asking!

We have a lot of things coming up - take the time to check in with your employer and see if they are able to provide any donations or do donation matching? Many companies have money set aside for gifting to non-profits. This would be a tremendous help and keep our pockets from continuously being empty!

We can put together a donation sheet - an idea is to include shout outs in our Weekly Beats of the company that donates. We may even be able to put sponsors on our shirts. Ideas I will have to run by the board - but look for more information on that soon!

we need you!

We all have one thing in common: we love our students!

Check out our volunteer form - there are so many opportunities for you to get involved on any level!

Hubbard Recognized by Union Board of Education

Kylee Hubbard, director of Union’s Guard Program, was recognized at last night’s board meeting for her significant contributions to developing the program. Charles Pisarra, director of Union Bands, praised Hubbard for the color guard’s recent accomplishments, including winning two back-to-back state championships in Winter Guard as well as a finalist appearance at the World Championship!
