STUDENT ITINERARY

FRIDAY, October 21

  • 12:00am  Load buses

    • Wind instruments and battery percussion in bus luggage bays. Flute and clarinet cases stored in bus cabin.

    • Suitcase/duffle stored in bus luggage bays. Backpack or smaller bag in bus cabin.

  • 12:30am  Depart UHS 

  • 7:30am Breakfast served (Meal location: Golden Corral in St. Louis)

  • 8:30am Depart St. Louis

  • SWITCH TO EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME

  • 12:30pm  Lunch + Rehearsal (Terre Haute, IN)

  • 2:00pm Load trucks and buses

    • Battery percussion load onto semi

    • Sousas load onto semi

  • 2:30pm Depart for Indianapolis

  • TBA Arrive at Lucas Oil Stadium for brief tour

    • BACKPACKS cannot be brought into the stadium!

  • TBA Reload buses

  • TBA Arrive hotel and check-in

    • Instruments to hotel rooms

  • 6:30pm  Dinner at Buca Di Beppo

  • 8:00pm  Section Meetings

    • In hotel meeting rooms: Percussion, Brass, Woodwinds

  • 9:00pm Section Meetings conclude

  • 9:30pm Curfew

  • 10:00pm  Lights Out

SATURDAY, October 22

  • 4:30am  Wake

    • Winds/Percussion: Dress into Black Member Shorts and Big-U/RR shirt

  • 5:15am  Percussion and Loading Crew depart to Crown Plaza to dress

    • Wind Instruments from hotel rooms to Crown Plaza

  • 5:30am All others depart for Crown Plaza to dress

    • Wind Instruments from hotel rooms to Crown Plaza

  • 6:05am  Percussion and Loading Crew Walk to Lucas Oil Stadium Parking Lot

  • 6:20am All others depart for Lucas Oil Stadium

  • 7:05am Ramp

    • SW Ramp/Tunnel: Battery, Front Ensemble, Audio, Guard, and all others not moving sets/props/blockers

    • Missouri St Ramp: All Sets/Props/Blockers

  • 7:15-7:45am Pit Warm-Up [Area ‘A’]

  • 7:15-7:30am Physical Warm-Up [Area ‘A’]

  • 7:30-8:00am Music Warm-Up [Area ‘A’]

  • 7:50am Pit + Sets/Props Report

  • 8:05am Wind/Battery/Guard Report

  • 8:15am  PRELIMS PERFORMANCE

  • 8:30am  Group picture

  • 9:15am  Load Trucks. Undress at Crown Plaza. Refold Ribbons at ICC.

    • Wind instruments remain in cases at Crown Plaza.

  • 10:00am Breakfast served in hotel lobby

  • 10:30am Shower & pack

    • All Members: Wear jeans and show shirt

  • 11:30am Check out of hotel

  • 11:45am Load luggage on to buses

    • We encourage leaving backpacks on the bus or in Crowne Plaza room

  • TBD Afternoon activities

    • Stow backpacks at Crown Plaza

    • Watch bands perform at the stadium

    • Lunch at Circle Center Mall (cash distribution provided)

    • Attend Prelims awards at stadium

  • TBD Walk to Crown Plaza for Dinner

  • 5:40pm All others depart for Lucas Oil Stadium

  • 6:20pm Ramp

    • SW Ramp/Tunnel: Battery, Front Ensemble, Audio, Guard, and all others not moving sets/props/blockers

  • 6:30-7:00pm Pit Warm-Up [Area ‘A’]

  • 6:30-6:45pm Physical Warm-Up [Area ‘A’]

  • 7:05pm Pit + Sets/Props Report

  • 7:20pm Wind/Battery/Guard Report

  • 7:30pm  PRELIMS PERFORMANCE

  • 7:45pm Load Trucks

  • 8:30pm Dinner

  • 9:15pm Redress for massing

  • 9:45pm Walk to stadium

  • 10:00pm Line up for massing

  • 10:45pm Finals massing

SUNDAY, October 23

  • 12:00am Walk to Crown Plaza

  • 12:15am Dress out at Crown Plaza

  • 12:30am Snack served/Load buses

  • 1:30am Depart Indianapolis for home

    Parents who wish to check their child out must email president@unionbands.com ahead of time.  After the student is out of uniform and all responsibilities have been fulfilled, please check the student out with their director and sign them off of the bus roster with their appointed bus captain.

  • 8:15am Breakfast (Meal location: Golden Corral)

  • 9:45pm Depart Breakfast

  • 1:00pm Arrive Union HS

    • Instruments except sousaphones, battery percussion, front ensemble percussion, and audio will be stowed in band lockers as usual

MONDAY, October 24

  • No School / Virtual Day

  • 3:00pm Unloading of Sousaphones, Battery Perc, Front Ensemble Perc, Audio, and other equipment pertinent to Loading Crew.

  • Percussion and Guard Sectionals - normal afternoon schedule


WHAT TO PACK? 

  • LUGGAGE

    • Small suitcase or large duffle. No large bags or suitcases are allowed. 

  • PERFORMANCE ATTIRE & GEAR

    • Tank compression shirt

    • Sliders (2 pairs)

    • Marching shoes (if not already on the uniform cart )

    • Long black socks (2 pairs)

    • BLACK member shorts as cover-up during dressing

    • Big-U/RR shirt as cover-up during dressing

  • PERFORMANCE ATTIRE & GEAR - GUARD

    • please see packing list from Ms. Hubbard

  • EVENT ATTENDANCE ATTIRE

    • Show shirt

    • GRAY member hoodie

    • Jeans

    • Shoes / socks

  • TRAVEL WEAR & GEAR 

    • Travel clothing (suggest: shorts / sweatpants / long or short sleeve t-shirts / etc.)

    • Comfortable shoes / flip-flops / etc. for long bus rides and other down-time 

    • Backpack / duffle / sling bag

    • Jacket / hoodie

    • Pillow & blanket

    • Homework / book

    • Phone / charger / battery pack

    • DVDs (G, PG, PG-13)

    • Snacks (drink bottles must have screw-top lid)

    • Extra $ if desired for souvenirs, etc. (all meals are provided)

    • Personal / portable electronic devices must have headphones / ear buds

  • Personal Care & Wear

    • Other cosmetic and/or hygiene items as pertinent

If planning to park your vehicle on campus throughout the duration of the trip, please park in the UHS South (student) parking lot.
