ADDITIONAL INFO FOR STUDENTS

  • Performance Attire

    • Student performers should plan to ‘dress for success’, as dressing nicely creates a more engaging performance experience.

      • Business-Casual is the norm.

      • Please avoid wearing jeans.

      • Concert black attire is a good choice.

  • Students will receive a judge feedback sheet after the conclusion of the event, including comments, criteria evaluation, and a rating.

  • Arrival & Departure

    • Students may choose to stay after school or go home and come back to campus before their performance time.

    • If student goes home prior to performing, the student should arrive back at campus at least 15 minutes before he/she is scheduled to perform.

    • Performances generally last no more than 5 minutes. After the student has performed their solo, they are free to go home. Please schedule the transportation plan in advance.

  • 8th GRADE SPECIFICS

    • ALL Symphonic Band (5th Hour) Students are REQUIRED to perform for a Performance Grade (Performances are 30% of a student's total grade). Concert Band (6th Hour) Students are NOT REQUIRED to perform.

    • Shuttle bus transportation from the 8th Grade Center to the 6/7th Grade Center that depart during 6th hour. Students intending to this service MUST let Mr. Pritner know by Thurs April 27.


INFO FOR PARENTS

Parents are welcome to support their child from hallway, encouraging before the performance and congratulating them after the student performs, but it’s our policy that parents enter the performance room only at the discretion the student performer, please. This is not a family event or a concert.
