UHS Symphonic Band @ O.B.A. Concert Band Festival

STUDENT ATTIRE

Standard concert black performance attire will be worn throughout the event. Please arrive at school wearing this attire.

  • Tux Jacket + Pants, white tux shirt, black bowtie, cummerbund, black dress shoes, long black socks

  • Black Blouse + Palazzo Pants, black shoes

STUDENT ITINERARY

  • 6:45am Building Unlocked / Call Time. Gather instrument and music folder.

  • 7:00am load bus

  • 7:15am bus departs UHS

  • 7:45am bus arrives TU. Unload instruments and proceed to performance facility (Lorton Center)

  • 8:00am Attend Owasso Concert Band Performance in the auditorium

  • 8:30am Gather instruments and prepare for entry into warm-up

  • 9:00am Warm-Up Begins (Meinig Recital Hall)

  • Transition to Stage

  • 9:30am Union Symphonic Band Performance in Gussman Concert Hall [ LIVE STREAM ]

  •  Transition to Clinic Room Immediately Following Performance

  •  10:05am Clinic in Kaiser Rehearsal Hall

  • 10:35am Jolesch Photography Individual Photos in Lorton PAC Lobby

  • 10:55am Break (restroom, water, stow instruments, etc)

  • 11:30am Attend Mustang Wind Ensemble Performance in the auditorium

  • 12:00pm Lunch (bring a sack lunch or $ for meal at the TU student center dining area)

  • 1:00pm Attend University of Tulsa Wind Ensemble

  • 1:30pm Gather instruments and load bus

  • 1:40pm Depart TU campus

  • 2:00pm Arrive UHS

Other Info & Expectations

  • TU is an open college campus. Please use all crosswalks and marked pathways.

  • No food or drink other water bottles are be allowed in the PAC.

  • Every group deserves a proper environment in which to perform. Standard concert etiquette applies to this event. During the performances attended as an audience member:

    • Applause: clapping. No shouting or whistling.

    • While seated in the audience: Hold still. No taking.

    • Phones silent and out of sight.

  • Quiet when going to the warm-up, concert, & clinic venues

  • Clearly mark/label instrument cases and other equipment (percussion)

  • Students are excused for the entire school day; 10th, 11th, and 12th Graders are encouraged to attend 6th Period but not required. Freshmen must arrange for transportation home from the UHS campus; riding the bus home from UHS will require the student to be familiar with the bus # and bus stops that serve his/her residence.
