tent city/ local contests
Contest days can be long, so we set up "Tent City" at local contest sites to make them easier for everyone.
Students will arrive at the high school at the designated time for rehearsal and lunch. Section Parents, along with any other parents who can arrive early, are encouraged to help set up Tent City at the contest site. Tents, chairs, and blankets will be set up to give students and adults a place to rest between prelims and finals.
When students arrive, they may have some downtime before their first performance. Tent City is the perfect spot to relax. Students will spend their non-performing time here, where meals and snacks will also be provided.
Parents and adults are welcome to visit, hang out, and enjoy the atmosphere. Meals and snacks will be provided for staff, students, chaperones, and key volunteers by UBPC.
Please buy your tickets before the prelim performance to ensure you don't miss anything, as entry to the stands is not allowed while a band is performing.
After finals and the results, students will load the truck and buses to return to the high school. They will need to unload everything before being dismissed.
