DATES and TIMES T.B.A.

Chaperones & Travel PArty

The Union Bands Travel Party will consist of Students, Staff, and Approved Chaperones only. UBPC will take an adequate, but limited number of chaperones/necessary travelers for this trip.  Applications to serve as a chaperone are available until December 15, 2020.  Applicants that are not able to travel with us will be notified by January 1 and will have the opportunity to join us though the Friends/Family/Alumni options!

ROLES & Expectations

Union Bands travels well. We have high expectations for our students and for the adults who travel with us. The ability to adapt to and work within those expectations and procedures will ensure a great trip for everyone.  Adults traveling with us will have a role on the trip, with most serving as chaperones. Chaperones are expected to abide by UBPC policies and procedures.  Serving in an official role with UBPC is hard work, but truly rewarding for those who enjoy teenagers!

APPLICATION TO CHAPERONE

When you register your student, you will be given the opportunity to request the chaperone application. Once you complete the student registration, you will receive an email with the link to the application. You will receive a response to your application prior to January 1, 2021.  Space is limited; please apply prior to December 15, 2020.  Please do not pay the deposit until you are confirmed as a chaperone

Chaperone Guidelines

  • UBPC requires background checks for all adults traveling with our students; this is at the expense of the interested party (approximately $23.00).
  • The number of chaperones taken on the trip is dependent on student enrollment.
  • We will not travel adults over 18 who are not willing to serve in this capacity.
  • Any traveler under the age of 18 will be a participant in the Renegade Regiment/Union Bands program or an approved immediate family member of a traveling chaperone.

COVID-19 Acknowledgements:

Guests may be required to wear facial covering and social distance even after being vaccinated, especially when traveling as a group, part of a crowd and when congregating indoors at public locations such as hotel lobbies, restaurants, theaters, cruise ships, etc.

If Federal, State and/or Local governmental authorities have determined that herd immunity is not achieved by mid-October 2021, guests that are age 50+ and/or that have existing health conditions, should consult their physician, and potentially rethink travel as they may be at a higher risk of contracting COVID-19.

We consider 2021 to be a transitional year. Even if vaccinated, and with best practices for Health & Safety, there remains a risk of contracting COVID-19.

IMPORTANT: We highly recommend that all travelers be fully vaccinated at least 45 days prior to arrival in NYC. Please be aware that Federal, State and/or Local guidance / guidelines may require indoor venues such as theaters, cruise ships, restaurants, etc. to obtain proof of vaccination for entry to the venue. Should that be the case, each traveler will need to carry and present their “Proof of Vaccination” Record Card for entry to such venues. If a traveler is exempt from receiving the vaccine, a letter of exemption from a physician may likely be needed. Travelers should consult their physicians regarding vaccination+
