Destiny is active in “UHS Today” newspaper, FUSE, Black Scholars as president, Sustainable U as publicist, and National Honor Society. She has volunteered with campus clean-up projects, Oklahoma Blood Institute and helped with musical auditions. She was named Biomed Student of the Month in 2019, Outstanding Band Member as a sophomore and junior, and Outstanding Symphonic Band Member. Honors include being lead drum major, six-year All-District Honor Band member, National Hispanic Recognition Program Member, principal flutist of the Oklahoma All-State Orchestra, National African American Recognition Member, and is an AP Scholars with Distinction. Reyes hopes to attend the University of Oklahoma, debating on majoring in English, music or psychology.

Destiny Reyes

“I play the flute and am passionate about it because of how it makes me feel. I am able to express myself and bring joy to myself and community through playing. I love that music is universal and anyone can participate in it,” Reyes said, describing herself as a team player. “I don’t enjoy calling the shots but can lead by example, so I identify as a team player. I am able to demonstrate the respect I have for others. I love having the input of others and working together.

UBPC ByLaw Revisions

Every few years, the Union Band Parents Club, Inc. Board of Directors reviews and proposes changes to the Bylaws. Our committee this year identified appropriate changes to this important corporation document. These changes have been approved by the Board of Directors and now must be approved by the General Membership. We will do this at the Meet the Regiment Debut Performance and Picnic on August 12, 2021. Please review the changes HERE.

Questions can be directed to Marjorie Hall, UBPC President.
