Where does the membership money go?

The membership dollars go in to the UBPC general fund.  This account is used to fund various expenses that we do not want to have to charge in regular student fees.

What do the UBPC members do?

UBPC members are mostly parents that want the best band experience for their students.  The band parent/UBPC member experience is different for everyone, depending on the amount of time each person has available to commit.  Generally speaking, members volunteer, attend UBPC meetings, fundraise, watch practices together, help with special events, travel with the band, chaperone on trips, provide hospitality for judges and other events, make friends with other parents and cheer on the band.  UBPC members are there to answer questions (especially for 1st year marching students – yikes!) and support you when your student graduates (try not to think about it – it will be here before you know it!)

Company donations or donation matching

Some companies will match or donate if you volunteer! Don’t hesitate to ask! Some of our band parents have received hundreds of dollars in donations just by asking!

We have a lot of things coming up - take the time to check in with your employer and see if they are able to provide any donations or do donation matching? Many companies have money set aside for gifting to non-profits. This would be a tremendous help and keep our pockets from continuously being empty!

We can put together a donation sheet - an idea is to include shout outs in our Weekly Beats of the company that donates. We may even be able to put sponsors on our shirts. Ideas I will have to run by the board - but look for more information on that soon!

we need you!

We all have one thing in common: we love our students!

Check out our volunteer form - there are so many opportunities for you to get involved on any level!

Contact the volunteer coordinator with any ideas or questions!

Renegade Regiment takes Silver at State Championship

The Union H.S. Renegade Regiment concluded its competitive season on Saturday, October 30 at the Oklahoma Bandmasters Association 6A State Marching Band Championship held at Broken Arrow Stadium. Enduring cold temperatures, wet conditions, and multiple rain delays, the band pulled off a sensational performance. Originally slated for two rounds of competition (Prelims & Finals), the event transformed to just a single round of performances, with the Renegade Regiment scoring 87.85, earning 2nd Place in Class 6A-1, as well as 2nd Place overall. Union’s Silver Medal finish was the Regiment’s strongest showing at the OBA State Championship since 2019.

The staff & students of the Renegade Regiment extend gratitude to the army of dedicated volunteers who braved the elements on Saturday to help them achieve their full potential, and to the event hosts at Broken Arrow HS & the OBA Board of Directors for remaining committed to ensure that every competing band was afforded the opportunity to perform at the weather-impeded event.

Congrats to the Renegade Regiment on a remarkably successful season!
