We are aware of the inclement weather forecasted for later this evening, with widely varying predictions of severity & timing. As of the time of this writing, tonight’s UHS Bands Concert remains on schedule. Our team is monitoring conditions and as needed will take action accordingly.
A video recording of the concert will be made available later this week.
Turning-of school-issued concert attire is scheduled for tonight. Given the forecast, students will be permitted to either (1) turn in their concert attire as originally planned [students must have a change of clothes], or (2) turn in their concert attire at a later date, which will be scheduled and publicized as soon as possible.
As always, the safety of our students is the highest priority of Union Public Schools.
In the event that taking cover becomes necessary, our standard sheltering plan for UPAC events will be activated; we will ask for all persons attending the concert (performers and spectators) to seek shelter according to the plan outlined below.
UPAC:
Students, whether seated in the audience or on stage, will proceed with instruments to Orchestra Rehearsal Room #1610, via the UPAC South Corridor Hallway or via the backstage doors.
Spectators seated in the UPAC auditorium will proceed to the UPAC North Corridor Hallway, using the sets of doors on the north/left side of the auditorium. A single door at the back-left/northwest of the auditorium leads to the North Corridor, as does a set of double doors on the middle cross-aisle.
Band Building:
The safest spaces in the Band Building to shelter when under threat of severe weather include:
The Mens and Ladies Room (southwest corner of the building’s interior.
The Instrument Storage Room that adjoins the two Band Rooms.
Other spaces as designated by our staff during a severe weather event.

The membership dollars go in to the UBPC general fund. This account is used to fund various expenses that we do not want to have to charge in regular student fees.
UBPC members are mostly parents that want the best band experience for their students. The band parent/UBPC member experience is different for everyone, depending on the amount of time each person has available to commit. Generally speaking, members volunteer, attend UBPC meetings, fundraise, watch practices together, help with special events, travel with the band, chaperone on trips, provide hospitality for judges and other events, make friends with other parents and cheer on the band. UBPC members are there to answer questions (especially for 1st year marching students – yikes!) and support you when your student graduates (try not to think about it – it will be here before you know it!)
Pay online with a credit card directly through your CHARMS account. Please pay into your MISCELLANEOUS LEDGER only.
Send your payment with your student to be placed in the safe in the band office at school.
Mail your check payments to: Union Band Parent Club, Inc., P.O. Box 471915, Tulsa, OK , 74147-1915 (make checks payable to UBPC and include your student's name in the memo section).
