Gameday: SENIOR NIGHT | Union H.S. Varsity Football vs. Norman North H.S.

ITINERARY

  • 3:00pm Freshman shuttle runs from UFA to UHS

    • Bus Route #40 -OR- the Second Bus in the Loop Queue

    • not required for freshmen no required to ride this bus; it’s merely a service to you.

    • hang out and/or practice your instrument during this down-time

  • 4:30pm  Rehearsal on Track Field

    • winds/percussion wear: whatever keeps you warm 

  • 5:00pm  Meal served for all members 

    • MENU: Schlotzky’s Sandwich Boxed Meal

      • Students who didn’t submit an order will be served Ham & Cheese

    • Location

      • Served from UHS Gym/PAC Lobby

      • Students will spread out and eat in the bleachers or on the floor of the UHS Gym

        • All students must take full responsibility for cleaning up

  • 5:45pm  Dress into Uniform

    • Locations:

      • Clarinets & Flutes = Band Room 1

      • Saxophones & Bass Clarinets = Bus Loop Lobby

      • Trumpets = Room 1610 (Drama/Orch)

      • Drum Majors = Room 1609 (Vocal)

      • Baritones & Trombones = UPAC Stage

      • Sousaphones & Mellophones = Atrium

      • Percussion = Band Room 2

      • Guard = UPAC Backstage and Upstairs Dressing Rooms

    • Winds & Percussion Uniform Checklist 

      • Dress in layers under the uniform for warmth. Hoodies not allowed. Base-layer garments (‘Under-Armor’) are recommended.

      • Black uniform shoes

      • long black socks

      • black slider compression shorts

    • Guard

      • body-tights and spirit uniform

  • 6:00pm Brass: receive black custom bell cover. All student: receive hot-hands

  • 6:15pm  Warm-up

    • Black Masks distributed

    • Warmup Locations:

      • Winds on grassy inner-bus loop

      • Drums TBA

    • Shakos plumed unless wind prevents

  • 6:30pm  Move into stadium

  • 6:48pm (approx): Pregame Performance, including National Anthem

  • 6:55pm (approx): Move in to bleachers

    • Plumes collected, additional face masks distributed

    • Brasses enter stadium via Vom-4, right turn, Aisle E/F

    • Woodwinds, Guard and Percussion enter stadium via field level stairs and Aisle F/G

    • Students not staying for the game will return to the band room via the stadium concourse (walk under the stadium, not along the sidelines).

  • 7:05pm  Kick-Off

  • Game-Time procedures:

    • Maintain appropriate social distance and masking protocols

    • Maintain seating in designated position (white dots)

    • No gum chewing or eating (no concessions allowed)

    • Cheer enthusiastically but not obnoxiously

    • Bathroom visits

      • (once per student) are allowed during 2nd Quarter, Halftime, and 3rd quarter.

      • Student may not leave the bleachers alone; must have a buddy for the restroom break.

      • Must use Aisle F/G

  • Post-Game: approx. 10:00pm 

    • Alma Mater performed. Closing announcements, dismissal.

    • Exit Bleachers

      • Brasses exit stadium via aisle E/F

      • Woodwinds, Guard & Percussion via aisle F/G

    • Dress out of uniform

      • Uniform returned neatly to hangar and cart

    • Brass: turn-in custom bell-covers

    • Stow equipment

    • Clean band rooms

    • All students except for Seniors must be picked up from campus or have departed campus by 10:30pm

      • Parent drivers picking up student riders: please plan to pick-up at the North drive-up, via the traffic signal at 66th & Mingo.

    • Express an attitude of gratitude to Adult Volunteers and Section Leaders for all their hard work to ensure a great experience for the students tonight.
