What: The OCU Saxophone Day is an annual event open to saxophonists of all backgrounds and skill levels, age 11+. This exciting event features guest artist masterclasses, workshops, a guest artist recital, exhibitors, vendors, and a large saxophone choir. Each year, a world-class saxophonist is featured as a special guest artist.
This year’s featured artist is: Dr. Nicki Roman!
Dr. Nicki Roman is the Professor of Saxophone at the University of Illinois School of Music, saxophonist with Splinter Reeds, and Selmer Paris & Vandoren Artist. Click here to learn more…

What?
Work with faculty in the University of Oklahoma School of Music!
Open to all Woodwind, Brass, Percussion, and String Instruments
All high school harpists are welcome to enjoy a special harp masterclass
Get feedback on your final round All-State Band and Orchestra audition music
Bring whatever amount of music you have prepared – we know this is only one week out from the first round and want you to feel comfortable participating in whatever way you are able at the time of the Masterclass
The event is designed to help improve your musicianship and audition preparation

Midwest Trumpet Festival
Under the direction of Dr. Todd J. Hastings, the Midwest Trumpet Festival's mission is to gather leading performers, educators, students, and community for an intensive time of large and small continuing education sessions, master classes, recitals, and concerts.
The festival will also serve to bring together the community of professional trumpet pedagogues and performers from the Midwest region. The festival will feature renowned trumpet performers and scholars and is open for the public to attend.
The 12th Annual Midwest Trumpet Festival will take place on October 30-31, 2022, on the campus of Pittsburg State University, and will feature trumpet virtuoso and International soloist, Jens Lindemann!
The festival will include:
Master classes
Jazz improvisation sessions
Featured recitals
Concerts
Group trumpet ensemble reading session
Exhibits by Thompson and Austin Custom Brass music stores
All students can play during the group reading session and jazz improvisation master class, so bring horns!

$50 early bird special rate (prior to October 20)

University of Tulsa Band Day
All wind and percussion instrumentalists and color guard members are welcome to attend. Participants will spend the day with the Sound of the Golden Hurricane Marching Band; the day will include:
Attending the Sound's game day rehearsal
Lunch
Experience a college football game day!
Join us in the stands
Perform a part of the halftime show with the Sound of the Golden Hurricane.
More information about the schedule on game day will be TBD, but the call time is expected to be sometime around noon.
Fees
$20 for students - includes all game day activities, a meal prior to the game, and a TU t-shirt
$10 for parents - includes a game ticket

Rehearsals: Monday-Friday, June 6-10 and 13-17, 8:00 am - 11:30 am
Performances: Friday, June 10 at 7:00 pm (Lorton Performance Center), Tuesday, June 14 at 8:00 pm (Guthrie Green), and Friday, June 17 at 7:00 pm (Lorton Performance Center)
Who?
Eligible students: Any student that will be in grades 9-12 for the 2022-23 school year, as well as recently-graduated seniors.
Fee:
$200 per student, but discounts are available for All-District/All-State/Small School All-State students as well as for those with financial need and multi-student families. Submit Requests Here

Students interested in majoring/minoring in Music (or interested in qualifying for music scholarships as non-majors) must audition for acceptance into the program. o
Marching Band and University Choir are open to all UCO students and do not require auditions to participate.
Participation in other Ensembles, Bands and Choirs are open to all UCO students but require a separate audition, typically held at the beginning of each semester.
