Out of an abundance of caution, and in order to maximize student participation, we have decided to postpone the RR History Night event originally scheduled for this coming Friday, October 30, 5:00-7:30pm.
An upswing in reported COVID-19 cases among Union High School Band students this week, along with the associated district-required quarantines, means that many of our students would have to miss out on this event. Furthermore, we are very sensitive to the notion of perpetuating viral spread, particularly with an indoors-based event such as History Night, and certainly do not want to unintentionally worsen the case-loads and expose students and families to potential infection.
We realize this news will come as a disappointment to many, and for this we apologize. We also acknowledge that there will likely never be a perfect nor ideal time in the foreseeable future for (re)scheduling this event, but given the present trending, prudence requires postponement.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation; and special thanks (and apologies) to the parents who had already committed to volunteer at this event – we appreciate your flexibility and your ongoing willingness to serve our students.
All the best for safety, good health, and a Happy Halloween!
